🏨 Baokawa Onsen Wanquan Pavilion

📝 Introduction

A hot spring resort featuring the world's largest outdoor bath.

📖 Details

Located at the source of Japan's longest river, the Tone River, is the hidden gem of hot springs—Takaragawa Onsen, the only hot spring accommodation in the area. According to legend, when Yamato Takeru fell ill on the mountain, he saw a white eagle flying in the distance. Following the eagle, he discovered the hot springs here. The four outdoor baths cover a total area equivalent to 470 tatami mats and are renowned as "the best outdoor hot spring in the world." Here, you can enjoy a natural hot spring with over 1,800 tons of source water flowing every minute. Among the baths, "Maka no Yu" and "Kozu no Yu" are mixed-gender baths, where bathers are required to wear yukata, making it suitable for families to enjoy together. The facility consists of three buildings: the main building, the east wing, and the first annex, with all guest rooms featuring tatami flooring that is spacious and comfortable. The cuisine, made from abundant local ingredients such as mountain vegetables, mushrooms, and river fish, is worth savoring. Additionally, there is the "Takaragawa Sanso" for day visitors to enjoy single-use hot springs, offering light meals, allowing guests to easily enjoy a nature-filled hot spring experience.
