Established in 1860, this long-standing inn has stood by the banks of the Nagara River for over 160 years, with the surrounding area still retaining its ancient scenery. In 2003, it underwent a complete transformation, changing from a tourist hotel to a stylish inn favored by female guests. The guest rooms are diverse, featuring modern Japanese-style rooms with views of the clear flowing Nagara River, as well as standard tatami rooms. There are also luxurious special rooms equipped with spacious outdoor baths, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the experience of soaking while gazing at the Nagara River. The Nagara River Onsen has a brownish color, rich in high-quality iron and radon. Guests can enjoy soaking in the large baths "Kawa no Se" and "Kawa no Ne." In "Kawa no Se," there is a bath called "Kura no Yu," which has been renovated from a grand earthen warehouse built 130 years ago, allowing you to enjoy a unique bathing experience while admiring the retro interior. The cuisine offers a traditional kaiseki menu featuring Hida beef and other dishes transformed into an 18th-floor style. Using seasonal mountain produce and river fish, the meals reflect the chef's dedication to delicious flavors.
