📜 Hotel Details
Yunoshima-kan was established in 1931, during a time when Gero Onsen was still referred to as "Yunoshima," and it has since become a well-respected hot spring inn. The inn is situated on the hillside of Nakane Mountain, known as "Gero Fuji," allowing guests to relax in a tranquil space surrounded by lush greenery and enjoy an elegant healing experience. The architecture blends traditional Japanese wooden style with modern Western elements, exuding a rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Nestled in the mountains, the inn offers excellent views; from the observation deck, guests can overlook the streets of Gero Onsen, and the open-air baths and large public baths provide vistas of the Hida Mountains. The garden spans 165,000 square meters and retains the appearance from the time of the inn's founding, featuring a variety of seasonal flowers, trees, and small animals like birds and squirrels. Although it is a bit distant from the main street of the hot spring town, guests can quietly enjoy the hot springs, gourmet food, and pleasing scenery.
The guest rooms are distributed across the main building and annex, which preserve the atmosphere of the Showa era, as well as the Kageyama-so, built during the Heisei era. There are also private rooms with open-air hot springs and VIP rooms that have hosted royal family members, renowned literary figures, politicians, and prominent business leaders. It is a place where guests can experience the superb craftsmanship of Hida artisans and traditional Japanese culture.
The inn provides a variety of yukata, allowing guests to choose their favorite colors at will. Additionally, there are accommodation plans available for celebrating birthdays or anniversaries.
