📝 Introduction
As dazzling and colorful as gemstones, the fruit daifuku from the wagashi shop "NinNinKi" in Kyoto's Gion.
📖 Details
The fruit daifuku "Kaminari no Fuku," meticulously planned by the wagashi shop "Ninniki" in Kyoto's Gion, features seasonal fruits such as strawberries and oranges, paired with white bean paste or whipped cream, all wrapped in a mochi skin. The white bean paste is made from a high proportion of the finest Hokkaido Dainagon beans, with a recipe that includes only beans, sugar, and syrup, completely free from preservatives or other additives.
The "Gion Pocchiri," which encases five types of seasonal fruits, is inspired by the "Pocchiri (ぽっちり)" worn by maiko. The term "Pocchiri" refers to the decorative ties on a maiko's obi; it is known to be precious and valuable, as indicated by the saying "protect the Pocchiri first when you fall." This daifuku is not only available in the Gion area but is also the most beloved flavor among the "Kaminari no Fuku."
Luxuriously featuring the representative autumn delicacy, chestnuts, the "Ousama Kuri no Fuku" combines large, flavorful chestnuts with a chunky filling. Additionally, the "Grape no Fuku," made with seedless, sweet, and juicy grapes paired with refreshing white bean paste and whipped cream, all wrapped in soft mochi skin, is also a popular item during this season. Experience the elegant sweetness and noble aroma of muscat grapes; enjoy the high sweetness with a slight tartness, and the rich, layered fragrance of Nagano Purple grapes, selected for their seasonal perfection.
The daifuku, gently enveloping seasonal fruits with white bean paste and mochi skin, showcases a variety of seasonal products in the shop. Each visit promises new discoveries.
