In August 2018, a lodging facility opened in the naturally rich area of Gora, Hakone. It offers a space themed around books and a concept of time, housing up to 12,000 volumes, including new books, old books, and foreign language books. Focusing on six main categories: "Food, Clothing, Housing, Travel, Rest, Knowledge," it selects books that can add more joy to life. Proposals for a "life with books" can be found in the lounge, restaurant, and shop. The most special aspect is that every book seen in the facility is available for purchase. The facility is neither a bookstore, a library, nor a hotel; rather, it resembles a thoughtfully designed "secret base," with designs throughout that bring people closer to books, which can be considered the hotel's greatest feature. The hotel has a special project called "That Person's Book Box," inviting well-known reading enthusiasts from various fields to select books, creating unique book boxes that showcase the uniqueness of the activities. There are a total of 18 uniquely styled guest rooms, all equipped with outdoor hot spring baths and "That Person's Book Box." Each room's design has different characteristics, making each stay a new anticipation. In addition to the baths in the guest rooms, there is also a public large bath where guests can enjoy two types of springs: a milky white sulfur spring and a colorless, transparent beauty spring. Breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant on the first floor of the facility, featuring rich meals that reflect the local cuisine of Hakone. Guests can enjoy a variety of dishes made with local ingredients, including seafood from Sagami Bay and Suruga Bay, as well as organic vegetables and citrus from Kanagawa and Shizuoka.
