The Hakone Ropeway connects the "Sōunzan" station and the "Tōgendai" station, stretching approximately 4 kilometers. From the cable car, you can enjoy views of the Hakone mountains, Lake Ashi, Mount Fuji, and Sagami Bay, experiencing an aerial journey of about 24 minutes amidst breathtaking nature.
Along the route is Hakone's premier sightseeing spot, "Owakudani." As the cable car passes through, the 130-meter-deep valley extends beneath your feet, showcasing a stunning sight of white steam and sulfur emanating from the valley.
Additionally, the terminal station "Sōunzan" has a second floor that features the complex commercial facility "cu-mo Hakone." Inside, there is a terrace offering panoramic views of the outer Hakone mountains, Gora street scenery, and Sagami Bay, along with a free outdoor foot bath. The direct-operated store within offers fluffy and soft "Kumo Pan" (Cloud Cake) and the "Nyūberu" (Cloud Milkshake), which features cotton candy floating on a smoothie to represent clouds in the sky, among other specialty desserts. The shop also sells many original products themed around the Hakone Ropeway, making them perfect souvenirs.
