Hoshino Resorts BEB5 Tsuchiura opened in October 2020 and is the first hotel by Hoshino Resorts that allows guests to stay with their bicycles. Located on the 3rd to 5th floors of "PLAYatré Tsuchiura," directly in front of the JR Tsuchiura Station ticket gate, the hotel offers extremely convenient transportation. It provides bicycle rentals, cycling route information, and various comprehensive services that allow travelers to enjoy the fun of cycling at their travel destinations. The room designs also feature unique styles. The "CYCLE Room" allows guests to park their beloved bicycles inside the room; the lower level of the bunk bed can be converted into a sofa, making the "YAGURA Room" perfect for hosting mini parties with snacks and drinks brought from outside. "TAMARIBA," open 24 hours, is a public space where guests can bring in food to enjoy. Here, there are no time restrictions, allowing guests to indulge in snacks or drinks purchased from the station building or local supermarkets. Additionally, the hotel offers the "Dawn Scenic Bicycle Tour," where guests can ride their bicycles from the hotel before dawn to Kasinoumi to witness the beautiful scenery of the shimmering sunrise reflecting on the lake's surface (reservation required).

The station building "PLAYatré Tsuchiura" is the largest in the country, designed specifically as a facility for bicycle tours. It features a design that allows visitors to explore the station with their bicycles. Inside "PLAYatré Tsuchiura," there is one convenience store, three restaurants, and six cafe lounges, along with a tourist information center dedicated to bicycles and bicycle tours. The "Morning Glory Scenic Bicycle Tour" includes a rental bicycle and a set meal featuring Ibaraki's specialty sweet potato snacks and coffee, priced at 2,200 yen (excluding tax), and requires advance reservation (by 8 PM the day before). Rental of electric assist bicycles starts at 500 yen per hour, with options for 1, 3, or 6 hours. All guest rooms are non-smoking (with designated smoking areas), and guests are asked to remove their shoes at the entrance of the guest room, as wearing shoes inside is prohibited.
