Located at 40 degrees north latitude, the Kuroasaki-so (くろさき荘), the easternmost national lodge in Japan, is situated within the Sanriku Reconstruction National Park. Perched on a 180-meter cliff above the sea, it offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The guest rooms are primarily traditional Japanese-style rooms, with options for Western-style rooms and special accommodations. The biggest charm of this lodge is that every room boasts a vast view of the Pacific Ocean. Guests can also enjoy the ocean view from the large communal bath. Looking out through the large windows at the endless sea while stretching out and relaxing is a truly refreshing experience. Another highlight of Kuroasaki-so is the opportunity to savor various Sanriku seafood dishes, including fresh seafood unique to the region, such as abalone and sea urchin. Inside the lodge, there is a gift shop selling seafood products from Puradate Village, and a workspace called "BLUE BASE FUDAI" (paid area), where guests can work while enjoying views of the Pacific Ocean. It is quite comfortable and convenient for office vacations or remote work.
