Koyurian Zangou is located in Uda City, Nara Prefecture, at the border with Mie Prefecture. It has been selected as one of the "Japan's 100 Beautiful Mountain Villages" and offers a whole house accommodation that only hosts one group of guests per day, nestled in beautiful mountain forests. The building is a renovated and rebuilt traditional thatched-roof house and warehouse that is over 200 years old, taking a year to complete, while preserving the charming characteristics of a classic Japanese home. From the accommodation situated on a high platform, guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the vast terraced fields among the mountains and the Musou Akame Aoyama National Park. Gazing at this beautiful scenery that changes with the seasons and moments feels like stepping into Japan's pristine landscapes. Immerse yourself in the leisurely moments flowing here and experience the slow-paced life of the countryside. The biggest feature of the main house is the spacious irori (traditional Japanese sunken hearth) set between the wooden floors. Lighting a fire and listening to the crackling of charcoal while being healed by the flickering red flames allows one to temporarily forget about time. Dining around the irori is a precious experience that cannot be found in regular hotels or inns. There’s no need to worry about water facilities, as it is equipped with a cypress wood bathtub and a bidet toilet seat. The three bedrooms feature Western-style beds, allowing the whole family to enjoy their own private space.

Standing amidst the beautiful mountains and forests, this accommodation has transformed an ancient thatched cottage into a modern retreat.
