🏨 Kur Park Nagayu

📝 Introduction

A spa and wellness complex modeled after German thermal resorts, healing the body and mind of travelers.

📖 Details

The source of the Nagayu Onsen is renowned as "Japan's number one carbonated spring." Located in the hot spring town, "Kur Park Nagayu" is a wellness complex modeled after German spa resorts. The term "Kurort" refers to German spa resorts that meet strict standards and are considered part of medical care, included in the social insurance system in Germany. All the hot springs at Kur Park Nagayu dissolve carbon dioxide in neutral groundwater. The rare bicarbonate spring used here is said to increase the secretion of nitric oxide, promote blood circulation, raise body temperature, and improve physical condition and diseases. The facility consists of a hot spring building, a restaurant building, and accommodation. Visitors can enjoy the hot springs even on a day trip. The first floor of the hot spring building features a spa area for bathing in swimsuits, while the second floor has separate indoor nude baths for men and women. Various types of hot springs can be enjoyed in the exercise bath, sleeping bath, and outdoor bath on the first floor, but the most appealing is the 100-meter walking bath. Walking back and forth in the bicarbonate spring not only promotes blood circulation and raises body temperature but also enhances metabolism, aiding in weight loss. The restaurant building serves lunch and dinner featuring seasonal local ingredients from Oita, such as Oita beef and yellowtail (breakfast is only available for overnight guests). The accommodation building has 16 wooden cabins. Twin rooms and loft rooms come with skylights, allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful starry sky at night. Additionally, the use of wood and recycled paper in the construction, designed by world-class architect Shigeru Ban, is a significant highlight of the elegant wooden architecture.
