📝 Introduction
The hot spring inn, located a bit away from the main street of the secret hot spring Kurokawa Onsen, stands within the forest.
📖 Details
The hot spring town "Kurokawa Onsen" is located on the northern side of the active volcano "Mount Aso" in the Aso region of Kumamoto Prefecture. Kurokawa Onsen is so secluded that it is not even marked on the maps published by local newspapers, making it one of Japan's famous hidden gem hot springs. Deep in the forest, a bit away from the Kurokawa Onsen town, stands the tranquil ryokan "Ryokan Sanga," resembling a hidden retreat.
One of Sanga's highlights is its two unique hot spring sources: "Yakushi no Yu" and "Bihada no Yu," each with different mineral qualities. Guests can indulge in a luxurious experience with high-quality, 100% natural flowing hot springs. The facility features seven bathing areas, including a men's only outdoor bath "Hō no Yu," a women's only outdoor bath "Shiki no Yu," an indoor bath exclusive to overnight guests "Yakushi no Yu," and a private rental bath "Rokushaku Tsubo-yu," where guests can enjoy Sanga's hot springs.
Accommodations include eight-tatami mat and ten-tatami mat Japanese-style rooms, as well as various room types equipped with Western-style beds and outdoor baths. Guests can relax in a serene environment with the sounds of chirping birds and flowing water. Additionally, Sanga offers authentic Japanese cuisine made with seasonal ingredients from the local "Koguni" area, along with a selection of local beers, wines, and natural wines that pair well with the meals.
With high-quality hot springs, comfortable rooms, and a variety of delicious dishes made from carefully selected ingredients, guests can leisurely enjoy a restorative escape from their daily fatigue.
