🏨 Kusatsu Onsen Ichii Hotel

📝 Introduction

The ryokan that opened during the Edo period is located in front of Yuda, the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen.

📖 Details

The steam from the hot springs rises gently, and the air is filled with the scent of sulfur at "Yudata," a symbol of Kusatsu Onsen, which gushes out 4,600 liters of hot spring water per minute. Across from Yudata is "Ichii," a ryokan that has been in operation since the mid-Edo period, boasting a history of over 300 years. The large public bath "Ishiden," renovated in 2021, draws its hot spring water from the source "Yubatake Mae Shirohata Gensen," which is used by about 10 establishments near Yudata. The large bath features multiple pools, allowing guests to choose their preferred temperature. Additionally, the outdoor bath "Ishitei" utilizes the "Hakurakusan Bandai Mineral Spring," rich in slightly acidic components, and offers views of seasonal changes such as autumn leaves, snowy landscapes, and night scenes, showcasing the unique beauty of Japan. Among the total of 120 guest rooms in the main building, annex, and west wing, only 25 rooms in the main building offer a view of Yudata. Notably, the executive room on the 8th floor, set to reopen in March 2024, is equipped with Hida furniture sofas, a large projector, and premium Sealy mattresses, providing guests with a higher quality accommodation experience. Dinner features a Japanese kaiseki meal made with a wealth of seasonal ingredients, and some accommodation plans allow guests to choose to dine in the restaurant or dining area.
