📖 Seishun 18 Ticket

The "Seishun 18 Ticket" is a discount ticket that allows unlimited rides on ordinary and rapid JR trains throughout Japan, specifically for non-reserved seats. It combines the concept of "youth," represented by the word "Seishun," with the number "18," which symbolizes age and carries the connotation of "endless extension" associated with the number 8, hence the name "Seishun 18 Ticket." The usage rules for the Seishun 18 Ticket are as follows: - Seishun 18 Ticket (3-day version): Valid for use within 3 consecutive days from the specified date of purchase. - Seishun 18 Ticket (5-day version): Valid for use within 5 consecutive days from the specified date of purchase. Additionally, the Seishun 18 Ticket is only sold during three periods: spring, summer, and winter, with different sales periods, usage periods, and prices. For the Aomori Railway Line, the section between "Aomori - Hachinohe" allows for stops at Aomori Station, Nobeji Station, and Hachinohe Station. For the Ainokaze Toyama Railway Line, the section between "Toyama - Kurikara" allows for stops at Takaoka Station and Toyama Station. For the IR Ishikawa Railway Line, the section between "Kurikara - Tsubata" allows for a stop at Tsubata Station. For the Fukui Kōfuku Railway Line, the section between "Echizen Hanando - Tsuruga" allows for stops at Echizen Hanando Station and Tsuruga Station.

All Japan JR lines and sections can be used for unlimited rides within a continuous period of 3 or 5 days. It cannot be used for reserved seats on ordinary trains, limited express trains (with some exceptions), Shinkansen, and green car reserved seats. It is only sold during three periods each year: spring, summer, and winter. There are no age restrictions; anyone can purchase and use it.
