🗺️ Sendai City Yagiyama Zoological Park (Yagiyama Zoological Park Fujisaki Forest)

Yagiyama Zoo in Fujisaki Forest is the largest zoo in the Tohoku region, housing approximately 115 species and around 600 animals, including endangered species. It is located near the ruins of Sendai Castle, close to Aobayama, and is easily accessible by a 12-minute subway ride from Sendai Station, getting off at "Yagiyama Zoo Station." The zoo is popular among locals and tourists alike, showcasing a diverse range of animals including mammals, birds, and reptiles. One of the highlights is the "African Zone," designed to recreate the African savanna, where visitors can see African elephants, giraffes, and zebras.
