The Shima Kanko Hotel Classic is located on Kashikojima in Shima City, Mie Prefecture. Kashikojima is the largest island in the "Ago Bay," known for its pearl production and beautiful scenery. The hotel's location offers a stunning view of a group of 60 islands of various sizes floating on the sea. Established in 1951, this long-standing hotel has hosted numerous distinguished guests, including emperors, princes, and prime ministers. The renowned author Yasunari Kawabata, known for novels such as "The White Giant Tower" and "The Elegant Family," also stayed at the hotel multiple times during his writing process to experience life there. From the rooftop observation deck, guests can gaze upon the ria coast of Ago Bay, while the interior design, combining traditional and modern styles, creates an elegant and serene atmosphere. The suites where world leaders stayed during the Ise-Shima Summit were designed by the famous architect Togo Murano from the Showa era, with even the lighting and furniture crafted by this master. At the French restaurant "La Mer THE CLASSIC," guests can enjoy traditional "French seafood dishes" such as "Abalone Steak," "Ise Lobster Cream Soup," and "Ise Lobster American Sauce." Additionally, a commemorative dinner featuring the same menu as the working meals from the Ise-Shima Summit is also offered. In addition to the Classic building, the Shima Kanko Hotel also features bay view suites, and there is a spacious garden between the two buildings where guests can take a leisurely stroll while enjoying the scenery.
