🛍️ Tamagawa Takashimaya S.C.

📝 Introduction

A pioneer of suburban shopping centers, advancing in sync with the local community.

📖 Details

In Japan, the "suburban shopping center" is a pioneer, affectionately referred to by locals as "Tamataka." Opened in 1969, it centers around a department store and gathers several specialty shops, featuring a large parking lot that was quite rare at the time, attracting significant consumer attention with its innovative attempts. With a renovation to meet changing consumer demands, it has achieved ongoing innovation and evolution, progressing in sync with the local community. By February 2024, among approximately 340 specialty stores, the most popular is the underground food floor "Foods City." This self-service sales area not only offers high-quality, premium products but also includes specialty stores of trendy brands, creating a comprehensive retail marketplace. The main building and the south building showcase a wide variety of products. From fashionable clothing, miscellaneous goods, home decor items, cosmetics, to jewelry, the selection is extensive, providing an elegant shopping experience unique to long-established shopping centers. If you wish to take a break while shopping, head to the top floor of the south building to "PARK & TERRACE OSOTO." Renovated to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2019, the design combines the vibrant colors of Morocco with the relaxed atmosphere of the West Coast, featuring hundreds of plants, including palm trees and fruit trees, creating a garden space filled with greenery and a healing ambiance throughout the seasons.
