The large public bath "Reisen no Yu" is a shared facility among three inns in Tochii-yu Onsen, featuring three bathing pools that alternate between men and women daily. The source water is unheated, at about 35 degrees Celsius. Soaking for long periods in the mildly warm water can stimulate the autonomic nervous system, promoting relaxation of both body and mind. For those who prefer hotter springs, it is recommended to choose the outdoor bath with a view of the beautiful valley or the spacious family bath, which is available for private rental and open 24 hours (rental time is 40 minutes). The Japanese-style rooms and Western-style rooms are designed simply to allow guests to relax amidst the natural scenery. Beds are prepared in advance, so guests can lie down and rest at any time upon arrival. Dinner features local ingredients prepared in a home-cooked style, "Shisai I Soup" (four dishes and one soup). Many travelers choose to stay for several days, soaking in the hot springs multiple times each day, using "modern hot spring therapy" to restore balance to their often chaotic minds and bodies.
