Unzen Kanko Hotel, established in 1935, is a resort hotel located within the "Unzen Onsen" area, which was the first designated national park in Japan. It is approximately a 1 hour and 20-minute drive from Nagasaki city. The hotel primarily caters to foreign travelers and features a Swiss chalet-style architectural design that is very popular. The hotel, themed around classical luxury ocean liners, has been selected as one of Japan's modern architectural landmarks and was registered as a national tangible cultural asset in 2003. Inside, there are 39 elegantly decorated and tranquil guest rooms, as well as an elegant bar, a library, a billiard room, and a restaurant that spans over 200 tatami mats. Each space is as beautiful as a painting. Unzen Onsen is located in the center of the Shimabara Peninsula, which boasts a unique natural environment and abundant hot spring resources. The rich ingredients from the sea and high mountains, along with the sulfur hot springs that have a history of over 1,000 years, rejuvenate both body and mind.
