About Waterfall and Buckwheat Inn - Takimikkan

Nestled on a high platform slightly away from the main street of Ginzan Onsen, this tranquil and secluded hot spring inn offers a peaceful retreat.

Details

This secluded hot spring inn is located on a high plateau, slightly away from the main street of the Taisho Romantic Ginzan Onsen. Each guest room offers a breathtaking view of the mountains and forests surrounding Ginzan Onsen, allowing guests to relax in a modern Japanese tranquil space, surrounded by the charm of nature. Day trips for hot spring bathing are available. True to its name "Takimikan," the outdoor bath overlooks the Shirakawa Falls, where guests can soak while enjoying the beautiful seasonal scenery, including winter snow, autumn foliage, and summer greenery. In the indoor bathhouse, large windows provide a view of the surrounding natural landscape, enhancing the sense of openness. A five-minute walk from the main building leads to the "Bettei Takimikan," which features private hot spring baths. Cuisine is also one of Takimikan's highlights. Originally a soba noodle restaurant, Takimikan is best known for its handmade soba noodles. The soba, made from buckwheat flour sourced from the Obanazawa region, has been prepared using the traditional methods of "freshly ground, freshly made, and freshly boiled" since the establishment. Guests can enjoy unique dishes made with local ingredients from Yamagata Prefecture, such as "Obanazawa Beef," wild vegetables, and sweetfish. The famous soba noodles can also be enjoyed at "Soba Place Takimitei" on the first floor of Bettei Takimikan.
