Animate (安利美特) Akihabara Store is the largest anime, manga, and game specialty store in Japan. Opened in 1997, it has become a beloved destination for fans in the anime mecca of Akihabara. In recent years, with plans for renovations, a new building (Building 2) was established in December 2022. Then in April 2023, Building 1 relocated and reopened next to Building 2. The newly designed Building 1 has a total of 8 floors, from B1 to the 7th floor. The B1 floor features music, video, and game-related products, while floors 1 to 6 focus on popular anime works and merchandise related to beloved characters. The 7th floor is an event space that hosts various exciting activities, including signings and stand-up shows. Building 2 primarily focuses on books, with the 2nd floor housing "Animate Cafe Gratte Akihabara," and the 6th and 7th floors featuring "Only Shop." A variety of exhibitions and events are held, offering exclusive deals unique to Animate, allowing fans to fully immerse themselves in the world of anime.
