🛍️ FUKUYA Dazaifu Store

The Fukuoka specialty "Karashi Mentaiko" originated from the founder Kawahara Toshio in Showa 23 (1948). The following year, it was officially sold in a shop in Nakasu. The "FUKUYA Dazaifu Store" is located along the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Not only does it sell FUKUYA's mentaiko, but customers can also enjoy mentaiko chazuke in the dining area. The most popular dish, "Double Layer Mentaiko Chazuke Set (二重の塔仕立て)," allows you to taste three different flavors of mentaiko. Finally, you can make chazuke using "FUKUYA Fuku Dashi (ふくやのふくだし)." There is a wide variety of products related to Karashi Mentaiko. The Dazaifu store offers exclusive items such as the "Pass Can (合格罐)" and "Success Can (出世罐)," which are canned mentaiko preserved in oil, made from the roe of the yellow-line narrow cod, known as "Shusse Tamago," which has different names based on its growth size. These are must-buy souvenirs.

The original store of Spicy Cod Roe "FUKUYA" located in Dazaifu. In the dining area at the back of the store, you can enjoy Cod Roe Chazuke. They also sell "FUKUYA Cod Roe" products, including Spicy Cod Roe. The Dazaifu store-exclusive "Passing Grade Can" and "Success Can" are must-buy souvenirs.
