📜 Hotel Details
Gora Kadan is a traditional Japanese inn built on the site of a villa constructed by Prince Saionji Kinmochi for summer retreats before World War II. It is now part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, located within the popular Gora Onsen. In 1991, it became a member of the world-renowned hotel dining group "Relais & Châteaux," and it enjoys a great reputation overseas. The guest rooms are based on traditional Japanese style, offering a variety from rooms with private open-air baths to separate villa accommodations.
The dining experience features authentic kaiseki cuisine. In addition to using fresh seafood caught from the local Sagami Bay or Suruga Bay, seasonal ingredients are also incorporated, making the meals not only delicious but also visually appealing. Except for some separate villa rooms, breakfast and dinner are served in the guest rooms, allowing guests to enjoy their meals in a private space at a leisurely pace.
The inn has three sources of hot spring water, two of which are sourced from the garden's own springs. The mildly alkaline, colorless, and transparent spring water is gentle on the skin and is said to be effective for cold hands and feet or for relieving fatigue. There is also a large public bath and a family bath that can be used for free within 40 minutes. Additional free facilities include an outdoor warm-water massage bath and a gym.
Furthermore, for those wishing to enjoy a stone sauna, it is available for a fee starting at 5,500 yen (for two people); guests seeking more relaxation can indulge in the Oriental-style KADAN SPA in the garden; and treatments using selected cosmetics are also offered (60 minutes for 17,600 yen).
