🏨 Historical Inn Kanaguya
🎨 Hotel Gallery
📝 Introduction
The signature natural hot spring and nationally registered tangible cultural heritage take travelers on a journey back in time to the world from the Meiji to the early Showa period.
📖 Details
Built in Showa 11 (1936), the four-story wooden building "Seigetsuro" stands proudly in the center, with the "Daikoumen" still in use today. The solemn appearance crafted by skilled palace carpenters is thoughtfully designed throughout the building, allowing visitors to feel as if they have returned to the early Showa era.
There are a total of 29 guest rooms, all traditional Japanese-style rooms. These include rooms featuring ornate folding screens and decorative windows, as well as rooms that mimic the architecture of affluent farmhouses; the style and partitions of the rooms vary according to the trends of the construction era. While specific rooms cannot be designated, guests can choose from three types: special rooms (traditional rooms crafted by palace carpenters), spacious Japanese-style rooms (later remodeled), among others.
The 100% natural hot spring, which flows directly from the source, is also a signature of Kanaguya. It boasts four private sources and eight bathing areas, each with distinct mineral qualities and characteristics, allowing guests to enjoy the pleasure of various hot springs. Meals are served in the style known as "banquet kaiseki," featuring local chicken, Shinshu salmon, shiitake mushroom dishes, and multiple courses made with seasonal, healthy ingredients.
