In Nara, said to be the birthplace of Japanese sake, there is an ancient brewery that was established in the 17th year of the Meiji era (1884) and has nearly 140 years of history. The brewery is located in an old street that preserves the traditional beauty of Nara, and it continues to brew traditional "Nara sake" through five generations, adhering to the fundamental principles of "polishing rice," "refining pure water," "cultivating skills," and "sharpening the spirit." The representative product is "Harushika." Named after the legend of the deity of Kasuga arriving on a deer, it was later renamed "Harushika." This fine sake, characterized by its flavor, richness, clarity, and aroma, is not only beloved in Japan but has also gained fame in more than ten countries around the world. Inside the building that once served as the brewery, visitors can sample various fine sakes, including "Harushika Junmai Chokarakuchi." Additionally, in the attached tea room, drinks and desserts made from the fine sake are available. Not only sake enthusiasts but even those who are not fond of sake should be able to experience the charm of this long-established brewery's fine sake.
