The Kamikochi Imperial Hotel opened in 1933 and is Japan's first authentic mountain resort hotel. Its red triangular roof and log cabin-style exterior have been preserved since its establishment, while the lobby features a fireplace, a symbolic representation of the hotel, creating a warm wooden atmosphere inside. The facilities, including restaurants, are quite comprehensive, allowing guests to enjoy elegant moments embraced by nature.
The hotel has a total of 74 guest rooms. Utilizing the sloped roof structure, the rooms are designed in a mountain lodge style, including suites with living rooms and bedrooms, offering a total of seven room types. There are also rooms with balconies that provide magnificent views of the majestic Hotaka mountain range, allowing guests to choose their preferred room type based on their tastes or needs.
The hotel features three restaurants. In the main restaurant, guests can enjoy French cuisine that incorporates seasonal ingredients from Shinshu, adding a traditional taste of the Imperial Hotel. Additionally, there is a bar that creates an atmosphere reminiscent of a Swiss mountain lodge, where guests can savor world-renowned wines and cocktails. Afternoon tea and coffee brewed with water from the Kamikochi springs in the lobby lounge are also very popular.
