Mr. Sunakawa, the owner, studied culinary arts at a traditional Japanese restaurant in Osaka and runs a highly praised guesthouse on Iwaki Island known for its delicious cuisine. The guesthouse features an izakaya, where locals often come to enjoy Mr. Sunakawa's dishes. The restaurant has a large aquarium filled with fresh sea fish, allowing guests to savor seafood caught by local fishermen. The delicious flavors are enhanced by the fragrant "green lemon," a specialty of Iwaki Island. In addition to seafood, the island offers a rich variety of delicious ingredients such as lemon pork, free-range chicken, and vegetables. Guests who do not eat fish or sashimi can inform in advance to have alternative ingredients prepared. Dinner can be enjoyed leisurely in the guest rooms or in the izakaya, which is filled with a local Japanese atmosphere. The guesthouse has a total of 8 rooms, including Western-style rooms with beds and Japanese-style tatami rooms with futons. Designed with a modern Japanese minimalist vibe, the guesthouse was renovated in spring 2021, adding bathrooms and sinks to each room. Additionally, there is an open-air bath on the top floor with a view of the sea, where floating lemons emit a refreshing aroma. Yoshimasa is positioned as an experiential guesthouse, offering boat trips to enjoy swimming or camping on the uninhabited "Tsunami Island." They can also prepare barbecue ingredients for guests. Furthermore, if guests take the guesthouse's fishing boat out to sea, Mr. Sunakawa will prepare sashimi from the fish caught on board.
