The "Mai Sendō" direct sales store, which manufactures and sells new types of fans, is located in Gion, facing the picturesque Shijo Street, making it a perfect stop during sightseeing. The first floor features a variety of fans, as well as popular Japanese goods that make great souvenirs. The second floor is a painting experience area (reservation required). The store offers a wide range of fan types, including stylish summer fans, elegant dance fans, and decorative fans for display, catering to both functional needs and design preferences. There is a service for on-site name engraving (for a fee) on purchased fans, which is highly praised for gifts or souvenirs. The painting experience includes two options: "Traditional Painting" and "Simple Painting." The Traditional Painting experience involves completing everything from the draft to coloring with paint by yourself, followed by assembly and finishing by a master, with delivery approximately two months later (shipping costs apply). The Simple Painting allows you to color directly on a pre-assembled fan, which can be taken home the same day (note: groups of 10 or more cannot take their fans home the same day and will have them shipped the next day).
