The new wing was built in 1984. Its architectural feature is that all guest rooms are equipped with lush Japanese gardens, allowing guests to experience the peace and tranquility of nature right from their rooms. The main building is constructed in the "Momoyama Goten" style using cypress wood, designed by the famous Japanese architect Kingo Tatsuno. The lobby is adorned with intricately carved fireplace mantels and carpets featuring luxurious patterns, allowing visitors to feel the historical charm and cultural depth of this long-established hotel.
The diversity of room types is also one of the attractions of Nara Hotel. The main building has a total of 62 Western-style rooms, including luxurious accommodations like the Royal Suite. The new wing offers 66 rooms, including Japanese-style rooms. Guests can enjoy an elegant and leisurely stay in rooms of different styles.
There are two restaurants in the dining area. One is the main restaurant "Mikasa," which has been in operation since the hotel's opening, and the other is the Japanese restaurant "Hanagiku," located in the new wing. At Nara Hotel's restaurants, guests can savor traditional dishes prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients. Additionally, there is a tea room where guests can enjoy desserts and coffee while admiring the garden views and the scenery of the ancient capital, making it a great place to take a break during a stroll.
