The Osaka Namba Keikyu Hotel was opened in 2020 within the "Takashimaya East Building." It is very close to the "Kuromon Market," known as the "Kitchen of Osaka," and "Nipponbashi Denki-gai." It takes about 10 minutes to walk to "Namba" Station, located in the center of South Osaka, making transportation very convenient.
The Takashimaya East Building was completed in 1928 as the "Matsuzakaya Osaka Store," designed by Seiji Suzuki, who is renowned as the "architect who created Nagoya." The exterior of the building retains the appearance completed during the third phase of construction in 1937. After the Matsuzakaya Osaka Store relocated to "Temmabashi" in 1966, the Takashimaya East Building officially opened in 1968, becoming a representative modern architecture of Osaka, and was designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan in 2021. The building also houses the "Takashimaya Historical Museum," which introduces the history of Takashimaya.
