PIERI Moriyama is a large shopping center located by Lake Biwa, where visitors can shop and have fun while enjoying the magnificent views of the lake. The expansive area features around 120 stores, including fashion, groceries, dining, and entertainment. After years of construction, it reopened in December 2014, welcoming major stores such as "H&M," "Burger King," and others like "ZARA," "NITORI," "Avail," and "Nishimatsuya," which opened for the first time in Shiga Prefecture.
Shopping is not the only pleasure at PIERI Moriyama. The entertainment facility "Lake Biwa Sky Adventure" offers a variety of fun and thrilling outdoor activities. Visitors can choose between routes at heights of 4 meters or 8 meters to experience high-altitude outdoor activities; they can challenge themselves with a 100-meter-long zip line, enjoying the thrill of soaring through the air while overlooking Lake Biwa; and they can also experience diving from a platform 9 meters above the lake, providing fun for both adults and children.
PIERI Moriyama also features a hot spring facility called "Moriyama Yumoto Suishun." The hot spring uses natural water sourced from deep beneath Lake Biwa, with bicarbonate spring quality said to have skin-beautifying effects. Visitors can relax in the bath while shopping and having fun, all while gazing at the nearby Lake Biwa, enjoying a blissful time that heals both body and mind.
