🏨 Sanzhao Pavilion

📝 Introduction

A hot spring inn proud of its Japanese garden bath covering an area of approximately 1,000 tsubo.

📖 Details

Mizukagami is a purely Japanese-style hot spring inn that looks like a castle from a distance. The building, with its white walls and blue tiles, faces the gently flowing Mitake River, and the inn features a Japanese garden that incorporates nature into its interior through borrowed scenery techniques. Inside, there are three private hot spring sources, with a water flow rate that is among the best in Japan, including a significant output of "Radon spring" water, known for its skin-softening properties. The inn has a total of 12 uniquely styled hot spring baths, all using a direct flow system that draws water straight from the source. Among them, the "Garden Bath" and "Waterfall Bath," which cleverly integrate a 1,000-tsubo (approximately 3,300 square meters) Japanese garden with outdoor baths, are particularly famous for their ancient charm and natural beauty. There is also the largest private outdoor bath in the San'in region, "Shinzen no Yu," and a women-only outdoor hot spring "Rose Princess Bath," which features around 200 rose petals. Additionally, the inn offers day-trip hot spring experiences. The kaiseki cuisine, made with local ingredients, is also very popular, allowing guests to enjoy local specialties such as Tottori Wagyu beef, fresh abalone, red snapper, and sakura shrimp. In particular, the Matsuba crab, freshly caught from Tottori Port, Ajigaura Fishing Port, Tanago Port, and Sakai Fishing Port, is known for its firm, sweet, and juicy meat, making it a true delicacy. Reservations are recommended for those who wish to indulge in Matsuba crab. In addition to standard guest rooms, Mizukagami offers unique room types and standalone accommodations with outdoor hot springs, allowing guests to fully enjoy private space. The inn also provides rental services for original yukata for women, enabling guests to stroll around the nearby area in traditional attire.
