🎎 Sapporo Summer Festival

📝 Introduction

Sapporo's annual event, the largest summer festival in Hokkaido.

📖 Details

The largest summer festival in Hokkaido is held every year from mid-July to mid-August. Centered around Sapporo's "Odori Park," various exciting activities are launched throughout the city of Sapporo. The most notable feature is the beer garden in Odori Park, which is the largest in Japan. In the six zones of Odori Park, well-known breweries from both Japan and abroad set up stalls. Visitors can enjoy beers from Japan's four major breweries, Hokkaido craft beers, German beers, and various other beers from around the world, along with a variety of local delicacies made from regional ingredients. Each area offers different seating options, such as large tents, wooden deck terraces, and shaded spots. The Tanukikoji area hosts the Tanuki Festival, featuring a night market and children's portable shrines. The Susukino area holds the Susukino Festival, which includes an Oiran procession, portable shrine parades, and numerous vendor stalls. During the Obon period, the traditional Hokke Bon Dance event is also held at West 2 Chome of Odori Park.
