🎎 Yasugawa Castle Houseboat

πŸ“ Introduction

Japanese castles are not only magnificent and grand in appearance, but they are also meticulously designed military fortresses for warfare!

πŸ“– Details

Hikone Castle was built in 1604, making it over 400 years old. In fact, most of the castle's stone walls and other structures were constructed using reclaimed materials from dismantled buildings, primarily sourced from castles that were abandoned after military defeats, which is why it is also referred to as the "Recycled Castle." This experience allows visitors to ride on a Yakatabune, a traditional boat modeled after those used by feudal lords, to tour the castle along the moat. From different angles, you can admire the stone walls, wooden bridges, and the occasionally visible tenshu (main keep) and yagura (turrets) built 400 years ago, immersing yourself in a wonderful atmosphere that feels as if you have traveled back in time.
