🛍️ Shimura Store

📝 Introduction

The cost-performance ratio and expectations are off the charts at a famous chocolate-selling store in Ameyoko (阿美橫丁).

📖 Details

The "Ameyoko" (阿美横丁), located about 500 meters from JR Ueno Station to Okachimachi Station, is lined with over 400 specialty shops. Among these bustling streets filled with various unique stores, the Shimizu Store, which has been in business for over 40 years, is famous for its chocolate sales, known for its lively shouting of "Put it in! Put it in! And this one too!" as they pack one bag after another. With well-known brand chocolates sourced from both domestic and international suppliers, the scene of chocolates being packed into bags is captivating. Before the sales end, the shout of "I'll throw in one more!" often results in an extra bag being added. For just 1,000 yen, you can get a full bag of chocolates that would normally cost at least 2,000 yen. It's no wonder that many fans come from afar to experience the value and excitement of this sales method. The charm of face-to-face selling, which is becoming increasingly rare, can be felt in the unique shouting sales at Ameyoko. Just listening to the owner's shouts makes you feel like you're getting more than your money's worth.

⭐ Highlights

The boss's lively selling voice is definitely worth a listen. Being greedy in selection is not a wise move; leaving it to the boss is the smart choice. Instead of worrying about gains and losses, it's better to happily enjoy the fun of it all!
