🎌 Shinno Foods Hakone Koyama Boar

📝 Introduction

Odawara Food Manufacturing has launched Japanese-style steamed buns shaped like the cute animals that inhabit Hakone.

📖 Details

Hakone Little Wild Boar was established in 1894 in Odawara and is a product launched by "Shii-no Foods," which plans and sells various souvenirs and snacks from Hakone and Izu. This snack is themed around the wild boars that inhabit Hakone, taking the shape of a newborn little wild boar in the form of a steamed bun, making it a well-known souvenir representing Hakone. The moist outer skin contains a filling with a milk cream flavor, with a sweetness that is mild and just right. The shelf life is 135 days from the date of manufacture, allowing it to be stored for a longer period, making it very suitable as a gift. The packaging of Hakone Little Wild Boar, whether the outer box or the wrapping paper, is very cute, featuring amusing expressions of the little wild boar, one looking carefree and the other looking confused. Both types of packaging are so adorable that it's hard to bring oneself to open them and eat. Additionally, there is a chocolate banana flavor (10 pieces packaged for 864 yen). Other snacks shaped like the little wild boar include milk cream crispy cookies and cocoa crispy cookies (each packaged with 12 pieces for 486 yen). Besides the directly operated store in the Yumoto Fujiya Hotel, they can also be purchased at souvenir shops in various locations around Hakone and in gift shops at large and small hotels.
