Itami City in Hyogo Prefecture, renowned as the birthplace of sake, is home to the dojo "Shubukan," established in 1786, which is a representative sacred place for naginata in Japan. Under the guidance of the 17th headmaster of the Koryu Tendoryu, Kyoko Kimura, about 50 students are dedicated to practicing naginata.
In this historically rich dojo, filled with the atmosphere of the past, participants can experience the traditional Japanese martial art of naginata, with a comprehensive and fulfilling program. In addition to the basic plan of practicing Tendoryu naginata while wearing a training uniform, there are also experiential courses such as "Rhythm Naginata," which incorporates movement to music.
