📜 Hotel Details
"Yukitaki" is a long-established hot spring inn representing the Higashiyama Onsen in Aizuwakamatsu. Originally named "Kitsune no Yu," it served as a designated therapeutic facility for the Aizu clan during the Edo period and was converted into a hot spring inn by the current owner in 1873.
The large public baths include "Kitsune no Yu," where Aizu samurai treated their ailments, and "Saru no Yu," which offers views of the natural scenery through the windows, each featuring separate baths for men and women. There are also family baths available for private rental, and all baths provide 100% natural spring water without any added water or heating. Although day-use guests are not accepted, this allows overnight guests to enjoy the famous hot springs in a more relaxed manner.
The building is designated as a national registered tangible cultural property, and the guest rooms are decorated in a pure Japanese style with tatami mats, allowing guests to experience the charm of traditional hot spring accommodations. The notable figure from Fukushima Prefecture, "Hideyo Noguchi," also stayed here with his mother, and the "HANARE no ma" still contains his written words. The meals feature traditional Aizu local cuisine made from seasonal vegetables harvested locally, served in each guest room, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their dining experience.
In the courtyard surrounded by corridors and guest rooms, guests can admire the beautiful scenery that changes with the seasons, including cherry blossoms in spring, fireflies in summer, and candlelit snow views in winter.
