📜 Hotel Details

Akita's representative hidden hot spring, and the most popular accommodation in the Nyuto Onsen area. Located deep in the mountains, it exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of a samurai's retreat. This place was once a hot spring resort for the lords of the Akita domain in ancient times and has now become a longhouse with thatched roofs, where the attendants of the second lord, Satake Yoshitaka, rested during their visits for hot spring therapy. There are a total of eight baths, allowing guests to enjoy four different types of hot springs: white water, black water, Nakano-yu, and Taki-yu. The main outdoor bath, renowned for its representative scenery of Nyuto Onsen, is a mixed-gender bath. Women may need some courage to enter, but due to the murky water, once you are in the hot spring, you need not worry. There is a design that allows women to move directly from the women's only outdoor bath to the mixed bath while still in the hot spring. For accommodation, it is recommended to choose the thatched-roof Honjin guest room. Inside, there is a hearth where you can cook the famous yam hot pot and grill river fish over charcoal, experiencing traditional life from ancient times. Enjoy a relaxing and leisurely time in the hot spring, forgetting the everyday hustle and bustle. *Please note that the outdoor bath is closed for cleaning every Monday, and same-day visitors cannot use the hot spring. Guests staying overnight can use the outdoor bath after 3 PM.
