🎨 Hotel Gallery
📝 Introduction
Enjoy the healing relaxation of the natural hot springs at a long-established inn with a history of 137 years, and savor the local cuisine made from regional ingredients.
📖 Details
Founded in the 17th year of the Meiji era (1884), this long-established ryokan features an entrance that exudes the elegant Japanese architectural style of "Jinya." Upon entering, guests are greeted by a stylish Japanese lobby adorned with a coffered ceiling and decorative columns, along with a Japanese garden that changes its appearance with the seasons in front of the lobby.
The guest rooms each have their own unique design, ranging from pure Japanese-style rooms that preserve the original design from the time of establishment to Japanese-Western style rooms that cater to modern needs. There are also rooms with open-air baths and standalone villas with gardens, totaling 50 guest rooms. All rooms are equipped with electric kettles, refrigerators, and televisions.
The natural hot spring, sourced from their own spring, is a sodium chloride spring known for its beneficial effects on neuralgia, muscle pain, and skin beauty. The large public bath features an open-air bath with beautiful stone landscaping, as well as an electric stone bedrock bath and sleeping bath. Additionally, there is a sauna and a rental bath with an open-air bath (for a fee).
The cuisine, made with ingredients sourced from Fukui's Ashihara, is also one of its highlights. Guests can enjoy seasonal vegetables, mountain vegetables, and seafood in a traditional kaiseki style. There are options to upgrade to dishes featuring Wakasa beef, live abalone, and seasonal delicacies such as Echizen crabs, Kagawa crabs, and rock crabs. Furthermore, guests can sample a variety of local sake carefully selected by a young female manager who holds a sommelier certification.
In addition, the Japanese-Western style garden suite "Kanzukitei" was renovated and reopened in February 2022.
