📝 Introduction
Spend a leisurely time in the hidden hot springs of 奥飛騨 (Okuhida) surrounded by nature.
📖 Details
Located along the Kamata River in Okuhida, this is a standalone inn styled like an old traditional house. As a member of the "Onsen Yado Guardian Association," it uses high-quality flowing hot spring water that is not subjected to any circulation heating or chemical disinfection. The inn cleverly utilizes naturally bubbling hot springs, allowing guests to fully experience the ultimate enjoyment of soaking in a secret hot spring surrounded by nature.
The "Gunzen no Yu," as its name suggests, offers views of the main peak of the Northern Alps, "Yari-dake," and features an outdoor bath that allows mixed bathing. Additionally, there are private outdoor baths available for rent, as well as spacious separate baths for men and women, totaling eight different types of hot spring baths that make you want to try each one of Okuhida's hot springs.
The guest rooms include modern-style Japanese rooms, folk art-themed rooms, Western-style rooms with private baths, and independent rooms built in the traditional土蔵 (tsukuro) style, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences.
The dining options are also very rich, featuring selected Hida beef teppanyaki or Hida beef wrapped in magnolia leaves, as well as charcoal-grilled iwana (mountain trout), which is very popular. There are only a few restaurants that offer Hida beef dishes, all of which are designated "Hida Beef Specialty Restaurants." Additionally, local sake that pairs well with the dishes and house-made fruit wines are also well-received by female customers.
