Setoda on Ikuchijima Island is one of the hubs of the world-renowned cycling route "Shimanami Kaido." In March 2021, Adrian Zecha, the legendary hotel founder, established the Japanese inn "Azumi Setoda" in this area, which once thrived as a shipping stronghold, along with the annex "Yubune" across the way. This accommodation facility fosters interaction by sharing moments and experiences with the island's residents, featuring a traditional Japanese public bathhouse, "Sentō," providing opportunities to connect with locals. The walls of the bathhouse are adorned with tiles depicting the Setoda landscape and fish, designed in the typical Japanese sentō style, and it is recommended to look up and enjoy the surroundings while soaking. There is also a sauna to help relax tired muscles, as well as a lounge exclusively for guests, which includes a gallery showcasing the history and culture of Setoda. The guest rooms are decorated with cypress wood, creating a minimalist and refined atmosphere that conveys the warmth of wood. Spacious beds ensure a good night's sleep. There are rooms designed for storing bicycles and fishing rods, as well as living rooms styled with sunken kotatsu tables, and rooms equipped with functional desks suitable for business travelers.
