Hakone no Shi (Hakone Mountain Specialty Store) is a souvenir and gift shop located just outside the ticket gate of Hakone Yumoto Station on the Hakone Mountain Railway. It offers a variety of products filled with the charm of Hakone, ranging from onsen manju (hot spring steamed buns), local specialty items, to traditional crafts like yosegi marquetry, as well as seasonings and snacks exclusive to famous hotels and inns in Hakone. You can also find local specialties from the nearby Odawara area. Among the popular items are the merchandise featuring the original mascot of the Hakone Mountain Railway, "Tōzan Tetsudō-kun." The shop has a colorful array of products, including children's socks, T-shirts, and handkerchiefs, many of which can only be purchased here. Since Hakone Yumoto Station is the starting point for the Romancecar train heading towards Shinjuku, you can also buy various bento boxes and drinks. There are about 40 types of station bento, including local limited edition bento and seasonal offerings, which you might want to consider for your return trip. By the way, Hakone no Shi is open until 8 PM, so you can take your time selecting souvenirs after enjoying the hot springs.

Exit from the ticket gate at Hakone Yumoto Station and you will arrive immediately.
