📖 Details

Kawachiya is a long-established restaurant that features an exterior reminiscent of a traditional Japanese inn, with a charming interior and a beautiful courtyard that showcases refined aesthetics. In addition to its signature eel dishes, it also offers carp and river fish cuisine. The spacious restaurant has over 400 seats, including a large dining hall and many private rooms. Visitors to the temple can conveniently enter the restaurant from the approach, where they can leisurely enjoy high-quality Japanese cuisine in the large dining hall, which accommodates about 120 seats. The restaurant is filled with the fragrant aroma of the sauce released while grilling eel. The popular signature dish, "Unagi Don" (grilled eel rice bowl), features exceptionally fresh eel that is cleaned, sliced, steamed, and then grilled after being repeatedly brushed with a sweet sauce. While traditional grilled eel requires considerable cooking time, Kawachiya strives to maintain the eel's excellent quality and serves it in the shortest time possible. The grilled eel, prepared by artisans using a secret sauce passed down through generations, is truly exceptional. After savoring the delicious eel dishes, it is recommended to take a leisurely stroll in the courtyard, which is filled with Japanese charm.
