🌸 About This Restaurant

A Japanese tea house created by a long-established deep-steamed tea shop, with a tranquil atmosphere.

📜 Restaurant Details

The KIMIKURA Main Store is a tea house where you can savor authentic deep-steamed tea. As the name suggests, deep-steamed tea is steamed for 2 to 3 times longer than regular sencha, which removes the astringency and features a rich and fragrant taste. The most famous tea leaves for deep-steamed tea come from the Kakegawa area in Shizuoka Prefecture, one of the three major tea-producing regions. This tea house is established by the local tea company, Maruyama Seicha Group KIMIKURA Co., Ltd., based in Kakegawa. The tea house is located near tea fields and is a charming two-story wooden building. The unique Japanese garden allows visitors to enjoy different seasonal views through large windows. Inside, the space is divided by noren curtains, creating a simple and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for leisurely tasting Japanese tea. In addition to tea tasting, the shop is also well-known for its Japanese sweets made with a large amount of tea, making it easy for even those who don’t usually drink Japanese tea to enjoy. Signature items include the "Matcha Full Enjoyment Set," matcha ice cream, matcha jelly, matcha warabi mochi, and matcha red bean paste drizzled with matcha syrup, allowing for a complete matcha dessert experience. The beautifully packaged individual sweets invite you to savor matcha through both taste and sight. In winter, there is matcha red bean soup, while in summer, there are shaved ice options, along with seasonal limited edition sweets that let you enjoy the culinary delights of different seasons. On the first floor, you can find tea leaves, snacks, stylish teapots, and water bottles for cold brew tea, among other Japanese tea-related products. There are also various exclusive "KIMIKURA" items that can only be purchased in-store, making them perfect souvenirs. It is recommended to take your time enjoying the snacks before searching for your favorite types of tea and related products.
