Maruzen & Junkudo's Marunouchi Main Store is located on the 1st to 4th floors of "Marunouchi OAZO." It houses approximately 1 million Japanese books and about 120,000 Western language books, making it the largest general bookstore in Japan. The Marunouchi store is designed with the concept of "a museum of books," featuring a "Museum Zone" on each floor that mimics the exhibition spaces of art museums.
The vast inventory of books may make it seem difficult to find what you're looking for, but the knowledgeable bookstore staff are always available to assist you with any questions about the books or related matters, so you can feel at ease.
In addition to selling books, the store also features a stationery section with around 1,000 types of fountain pens, an area for glasses and watches, as well as a gallery.
The 3rd and 4th floors have cafes where you can relax and enjoy a coffee while overlooking Tokyo Station. Additionally, the café on the 4th floor offers a popular dish said to have been invented by Maruzen's founder, Mr. Yasuji Hayashi, called "Red Wine Beef Stew Rice."
