🗺️ Osaka Castle Pleasure Boat大阪城御座船

Osaka Castle was built by the 16th-century warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi. It showcases the magnificent structure of Osaka Castle as the base for unifying the nation. Today, the area around the restored tenshu (main keep) has been developed into a park. Inside the park, there is a sightseeing boat called "Osaka Castle Goza-bune," constructed based on ancient illustrations. It operates almost every day except during the year-end holidays. Departing from near Gokurakubashi on the north side of Osaka Castle, the mini cruise lasts about 20 minutes, allowing passengers to admire the majestic tenshu from the water and appreciate its elegant beauty, which has received high praise. Passengers can also closely observe the stone walls built under the orders of the Tokugawa shogunate, which succeeded Hideyoshi in ruling Japan. This is a privilege only available to those taking the boat tour. The stone structure, made up of approximately one million massive granite blocks, is unparalleled in scale, with no other building in the world matching its grandeur. The stone walls are engraved with the marks of the daimyō who participated in the construction, as well as human-faced stones buried for exorcising evil spirits, making it a site filled with fascinating attractions worth seeing.

The sightseeing boat's hull recreates the elegant design from 400 years ago. As you gaze up at the tenshu from the water's surface, you can enjoy a mini cruise lasting about 20 minutes. You can also get a close-up view of the stone walls made up of approximately one million rock formations.
