📝 Introduction

Experience authentic Zen meditation in a picturesque Zen temple.

📖 Details

Tenshinzan Shinkanshi Temple, established in 1965, is a temple of the Rinzai sect of the Kenninji school. The grounds are dotted with various temple buildings, including the Tahōtō pagoda, Mumyo-in, and the International Zen Dojo. The entire temple is renowned both domestically and internationally as a "museum of Zen and gardens," making it a popular destination for those wishing to experience the world of Zen Buddhism firsthand. The temple offers practice experiences for visiting pilgrims, with Zen meditation and the copying of Buddhist scriptures being particularly popular for purifying one's mind and spirit.

⭐ Highlights

The abbot will provide very careful guidance on Zen meditation, allowing even first-time participants to experience authentic seated meditation practice. Participants can also take part in the "shakyo" experience of copying Buddhist scriptures. Through seated meditation and copying scriptures, one can purify their own mind and spirit. At the "Museum of Zen and Gardens," you can simultaneously experience the charm of Zen Buddhism, art, and architecture.
