Taking the Akinokogen Ropeway, you can reach the summit station at an elevation of 1,167 meters in about 20 minutes, allowing everyone to easily access the top and enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.
Selected as one of the "One Hundred Famous Mountains of Flowers," Moriqiyama is a treasure trove of alpine plants. From early summer to autumn, around 300 species of flowers bloom, leaving visiting travelers in awe.
In autumn, Moriqiyama is surrounded by vibrant red leaves in a 360-degree view. The gradient landscape gradually changes color near the summit, offering breathtaking views whether from the ropeway or the peak. Additionally, about an hour's drive away, the waterfalls in Nakano-yo Valley and Tachi-yo Valley are also beautiful spots for autumn foliage, making them worth a visit.
In winter, the tree ice is a must-see, ranking among Japan's "Three Great Tree Ices" along with Zao in Yamagata Prefecture and Hakkoda in Aomori Prefecture. It takes about a 5-minute walk from the summit station to reach the viewing area, and there is also a walking route called "Juhyo-daira," which takes about 30 minutes to walk.
