🏨 Arima Onsen Hyoue Koyoukaku

📝 Introduction

A long-established ryokan in Arima Onsen that has been in operation for over 700 years.

📖 Details

The historic hot spring inn mentioned in the Muromachi period document "Inryōken Nichiroku" (1466) has been in operation for over 700 years. Inside, there are three of the oldest and largest bathhouses in Arima Onsen, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the renowned hot springs. The "Kinsen" of Arima Onsen is one of Japan's "Three Great Ancient Springs," rich in iron and salt, with its distinctive feature being the reddish-brown color it turns upon contact with air. The three large bathhouses within the inn have different styles, including "Ichinoyu" and "Ninoyu," which are for mixed-gender use, and "Sannoyu," which has a therapeutic bathhouse style. There are also private outdoor bathhouses that include gardens. Guests can enjoy the excellent quality of Kinsen in both indoor and outdoor baths. The guest rooms come in various types, including traditional Japanese rooms, Western-style rooms, and rooms with private outdoor baths. They create a tranquil atmosphere where one can overlook the hot spring street and the changing scenery of Mount Rokko with the seasons, providing an extraordinary experience. Dining options include seasonal kaiseki, charcoal-grilled kaiseki, and Arima seasonal buffet, allowing guests to choose according to their preferences. Using seasonal ingredients and prepared with techniques like boiling, steaming, and grilling, the Japanese cuisine reflects the changes of the seasons and is highly praised. The inn also features a souvenir shop, café, and tavern, perfect for enjoying leisurely moments during your trip. Additionally, various yukatas are available for rent, making it a great idea to change into a yukata and stroll through the streets of Arima Onsen.
