🍜 Café New Poppy
🎨 Restaurant Gallery
📝 Introduction
A traditional earthen storehouse-style café that inherits the atmosphere of Showa-era coffee shops.
📖 Details
This café is located on "Shikandō," an area that emerged as a merchant town with the construction of Nagoya Castle, and it still retains the historical streetscape with white-walled earthen storehouses. The shop inherits the history and tradition of the famous "Kissaten New Poppy," which opened in Nagoya Station in 1977. From the tower-like loft seating to the overall design style, it incorporates elements of the pure kissaten from the Shōwa era, with a nostalgic atmosphere in every corner, making it a highly photogenic space.
In this warehouse-turned-café filled with a sense of the times, you can enjoy freshly roasted coffee. There are two special blends to choose from: the dark-roasted "Poppy Blend" and the light-roasted "New Poppy Blend." The café is operated by a coffee bean wholesale company, so you can feel the dedication to coffee.
The menu also offers food items, such as the Nagoya specialty "Ogura Toast," which is toast spread with handmade red bean paste; the "Poppy Coffee Rice Curry," made with rice cooked in coffee, is also highly recommended.
